Stanley Arts
Marketing officer
Posted: 4 October
Offer description

Overview

The Marketing Officer plays a key role in telling the story of Stanley Arts — creating bold, engaging video, digital content, and design, as well as supporting wider marketing campaigns to promote our events, artists, and community.

Having joined the Arts Council's National Portfolio in 2023, Stanley Arts continues to grow, and is rapidly becoming one of South London's premiere arts, heritage and performance venues.

Stanley Arts has become a vital home for cultural expression and discovery for a growing community of artists, audiences & stakeholders. Stanley Arts welcomes everyone but is particularly interested in engaging with artists and communities that have previously been excluded from creative spaces.

As a radically inclusive space we seek to foreground under-represented voices, providing black, global majority, working-class, neuro-divergent and LGBTQI+ creatives with a platform to reach out to audiences across South London and beyond.

Salary: £28,808 P.A.

Contract: Full time (40hours p/week, including lunch breaks), fixed term 1-year contract, (with the possibility of extension depending on organisational priorities, including the progress of our capital development project) Average pattern: 5 days per week Mon-Fri, 8 hours per day.

The Marketing Officer plays a key role in telling the story of Stanley Arts - creating bold, engaging video, digital content, and design, as well as supporting wider marketing campaigns to promote our events, artists, and community. Working closely with the Marketing Manager, this is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop as a creative marketing professional in a dynamic arts venue.

This role is ideal for a confident communicator and positive individual with a flair for design, video creation, digital storytelling, and a keen interest in planning and delivering marketing campaigns, who is eager to build a career in arts marketing.

The role is responsible for creating engaging video and digital content, managing the social media accounts, and supporting the Marketing Manager on campaign and activity and event on-sales.

* Lead on creating engaging video and digital content for Stanley Arts' platforms (including interviews, short films, social reels and event trailers).
* Design digital and print artwork consistent with the Stanley Arts Style Guide, using Photoshop, InDesign, Canva or similar tools.
* Optimise assets for a range of platforms, formats and audiences.
* Capture and edit content at live events, rehearsals and community projects.
* Manage Stanley Arts' social media accounts, creating and scheduling engaging content consistent with our artistic identity and tone of voice.
* Upload and maintain event listings on the Stanley Arts website (WordPress).
* Support the Marketing Manager in the delivery of the Stanley Arts marketing strategy for events and hires.
* Manage on-site posters, flyers, banners and artwork, and oversee local print distribution.
* Liaise with external producers, promoters and artists to gather promotional materials.

Requirements

We're looking for someone who:

* Has a strong interest in the arts, with enthusiasm for a wide range of performance styles and artforms, as well as a passion for community engagement.
* Brings experience in marketing and design, and is keen to develop these skills further.
* Is confident creating video and digital content, with knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (or similar).
* Enjoys using social media and digital platforms to tell stories and reach audiences.
* Is positive, adaptable, and able to collaborate across a small, hands-on team.
* Has strong planning skills, with an eye for detail.
* Understands (or is willing to learn) the essentials of accessible marketing design.
