Quality and Risk Inhouse Lawyer Cardiff We are working with a Top 100 law firm based in Cardiff who have a new and rare opening for an in-house solicitor to join their Quality and Risk Department. This is a part-time position, and the successful in-house lawyer will ideally work two days a week with a blend of office and home working. As part of this role, you'll be responsible for handling client complaints in line with the firm's Complaint Procedure. Your tasks will involve: Engaging with complainants and internal staff Conducting thorough investigations and crafting appropriate responses Keeping meticulous records of complaints Occasionally liaising with the Legal Ombudsman for escalated cases In addition, you'll manage notifications of potential and actual professional negligence within the firm, which includes: Investigating reported circumstances and establishing facts Providing guidance on necessary actions and assistance Advising on conflict resolution and pre-action protocol Collaborating with the Head of Compliance and Quality, internal stakeholders, insurers, advisers, and external parties as needed Maintaining accurate records of professional indemnity matters for the firm.
