Role Overview
A specialist Further Education College in Bromley is seeking passionate and dedicated SEND Lecturers to join their team from September. The college supports young adults aged 19–25 with a range of complex learning needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Down's Syndrome, sensory impairments, complex medical needs, and non-verbal communication needs. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of learners, helping them develop the skills, confidence, and independence needed for adulthood.
Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging, practical, and personalised learning sessions tailored to the individual needs of learners.
* Teach independent living skills, life skills and personal development, cookery and practical learning activities, communication and social development.
* Prepare learners for adulthood and progression pathways.
* Work closely with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
About You
* Experience teaching or covering lessons within education settings.
* Experience supporting learners with PMLD, ASD, Down's Syndrome, sensory needs, non-verbal communication needs, or complex medical needs.
* Confidence delivering life skills, independent living skills, or practical-based learning activities such as cookery.
* A passion for supporting learners with additional needs to achieve their full potential.
Essential Qualifications
* PGCE DET (Diploma in Education and Training).
* Level 6 qualification in Education, SEND, or a related field.
* Master's degree in Education, SEND, or a related subject.
Requirements
* Must provide an up to date DBS, or be prepared to allow Axcis to process one on your behalf, in addition to other mandatory compliance checks in line with the DfE guidelines.
* If the position involves working with children or vulnerable adults, this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974.
* Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
