Location: Portsmouth.
Hours: 40 Hours.
Shift Pattern: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 12:00 – 20:00; Saturday: 9:00 – 19:00; Sunday: 10:00 – 16:00.
Responsibilities
* Patrol the shop floor and deter criminal activity.
* Assess and identify vulnerabilities, working proactively to minimise risk.
* Liaise with management and local authorities when applicable.
* Manage vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid distress.
* Complete colleague and contractor searches as required by customer policy.
* Digitally report incidents and use tablets/phones for daily activity planning.
* Provide detailed and legible incident reports to assist the client and local authorities.
Requirements
* Valid SIA licence (Guarding or Door Supervisor).
* Previous experience in retail security is an advantage but not essential.
* Ability to provide a full 5‑year checkable work or education history.
* Right‑to‑work documents and recent proof of address for interview.
* Confident communicator, welcoming and patient with customers.
* Professional and flexible conduct in line with company policies.

To be an effective Security Officer you will need to be a confident communicator, capable of providing detailed verbal and written accounts of incidents. You should be welcoming, patient with customers, and able to handle conflict professionally.
