Leopard Ward
* 14 beds, including HDU beds
* Acute respiratory care for patients with Cystic Fibrosis, invasive/non-invasive ventilation, chest drains, Optiflow, and complex respiratory conditions
Kangaroo Ward
* 9 beds, including HDU beds
* Caring for patients with long-term ventilation and complex needs, supporting transition from hospital to home
* Dedicated sleep study bed

What We’re Looking For
We are seeking an experienced Band 5 and/or Band 6 nurse with a passion for education and clinical development. You will join our Education Team to support and develop a diverse workforce, including Newly Registered Nurses, Nurse Associates, HCAs, and Support Workers.
Essential Requirements:
* Strong clinical knowledge
* Mentorship qualification/Practice Assessor
* Proven experience in clinical teaching
Desirable:
* HDU, Cardiac, or ICU module

Your Role -As a Clinical Practice Facilitator, you will:
* Provide hands-on support to staff on the wards
* Deliver local orientations and contribute to hospital-wide teaching
* Mentor and coach staff to build confidence and competence
* Support leadership development for Band 5 nurses
* Work weekdays primarily, with flexibility to meet ward needs
* Spend one week per month in clinical numbers.
* To be a Team Leader for a designated team of Junior Nurses.

Main duties of the job
The focus of the work will be very much working with staff who need support on the wards. This may be a new staff member, a staff member who needs extra support or maybe a shift for a band 5 to develop their leadership and management skills to be in-charge.
You should have a natural flair and aptitude for teaching and great communication skills. There are several internal education programmes to facilitate, plus assessing and ensuring all staff follow and complete the Competency booklets appropriate to their banding. The successful candidate will split their time between clinical shifts and education working predominantly alongside those nurses/students who require supervision and training, in addition to assisting in delivering study days and training programmes. The successful candidate will be expected to be a team leader and support the Management team.

Academic/Professional qualification/Training
Essential criteria
* NMC Registered Nurse (Child) (or Registered Nurse/Midwife relevant to area of practice, Mental Health/Neonatology/ Theatre
* Evidence of ongoing professional development relating to clinical speciality

* Paediatric Immediate Life Support/ equivalent
Desirable criteria
* APLS/EPLS (ITU areas only
