Payroll & Finance Officer Salary: £29,000 – £33,000 per annum Location: Great Dunmow on site Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday (8:30am start) Holidays: 28 days inclusive of Bank Holidays A well-established and values-driven organisation is seeking a Payroll & Finance Officer to join its growing team. Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 120 employees across five payrolls, along with general finance and accounts support. Key Responsibilities: Payroll Duties: Process new starter and leaver documentation, including P45s, P46s, and other statutory forms Administer Pension Auto Enrolment (NEST) Calculate, process, and reconcile payroll taxes and Attachment of Earnings Liaise with HMRC and third parties regarding payroll deductions Maintain and update payroll records and systems Ensure payroll control accounts for net pay, pensions, and HMRC are accurately reconciled Finance Support: Validate and process employee expenses and reconcile accounts Assist with purchase ledger invoice processing and supplier payments Prepare and issue sales invoices and monitor cash accounts Process bank payments, track payments, and complete bank reconciliations Manage intercompany document processing and account control Support ad hoc revenue/cost analysis and annual P11D compilation Requirements: Qualifications: Qualified by experience (Essential) CIPP qualification (Desirable) A-Level or equivalent (Essential) Experience: 2 years’ experience in end-to-end payroll (Essential) Proficiency with Sage 50 Accounts (Sage Payroll experience advantageous) Broad bookkeeping experience (Essential) Working knowledge of Excel (Desirable) Software Familiarity (Training Provided if Needed): Truckcom BoxTop Skills and Attributes: Strong written and verbal communication skills High level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure Proactive, supportive, and team-oriented approach Strong organisational and time management skills Confident, professional, and analytical mindset IT proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Benefits: Private health and dental insurance (following qualifying period) Exclusive employee discounts platform Company events and staff perks Contributory pension scheme Sick pay entitlement Free local parking (first-come, first-served) This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation that values personal development and recognises talent.
