Are you a skier or snowboarder with a passion for storytelling and exceptional copywriting skills? We’re looking for a Content Specialist to join our growing team and help us become the number one authority for skiing, snowboarding and cycling in our destinations.
Based a stone’s throw from the beach in central Hove, we're an award-winning team of skiers, snowboarders and cyclists and are one of the UK's leading specialist tour operators of two successful (and growing!) travel brands: Ski Safari and Freedom Treks.
Ski Safari specialises in extraordinary tailor-made skiing holidays to Scandinavia, North America and Asia. Freedom Treks offers a wide range of leisurely cycling and walking holidays throughout Europe and Asia.
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you’ll work across both brands, researching, writing, editing and publishing content for the web. Beyond writing and publishing, you’ll also have a keen eye for content performance, reporting and analytics.
Specific responsibilities include:
* Delivering the content marketing plans for Ski Safari and Freedom Treks
* Publishing three or more new pieces of content per week (blogs, product and landing pages)
* General website updates and enhancements
* Overseeing premium PDF content (knowledge guides and information booklets)
* Interviewing internal subject matter experts for content
* Analytics and reporting for content marketing efforts
* Optimising content for users and search engines
* Developing a clear and consistent brand tone across all written copy
* Ensuring all content is well-written, accurate and free of mistakes
Technical skills & experience:
* A minimum of 3 years’ experience in content marketing or paid writing, ideally in the travel industry
* Exceptional writing and editorial skills - we’re advocates for writing in plain English
* An understanding of common editorial style guides
* A solid understanding of SEO and content marketing principles
* Project management skills to manage editorial calendars and meet deadlines
* Experience using these tools or similar: Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign and Photoshop in particular), Excel, Mailchimp, Semrush, GA4, Looker Studio, Google Search Console and Hotjar
Personal skills:
* Highly attentive to detail, quick thinking and adaptable
* Able to think like an educator, telling stories and delivering knowledge through content
* Lifelong learner, always looking to grow and improve
* Results-driven, understanding how content helps grow the business
* Independent but collaborative, able to work as a team or individually as required
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines
* You’re a keen skier, snowboarder and/or cyclist - a passion for active travel is essential
* You have personal experience of our destinations and resorts
* You have experience working in the travel industry
* You write regularly in your spare time
* You have contagious enthusiasm that encourages those around you
The fine print
We’re offering a salary of £30,000 to £35,000 per annum, depending on your experience and what you can bring to the company, plus a performance-related bonus of up to 15% of salary.
This is a full-time, office-based, permanent role working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 9am - 5:30pm, plus occasional weekend shifts for events and during peak departure periods with time off given in lieu.
