Job Description
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Setting Out Engineer to work on a new Logistics / Distribution Centre project in Bolton. The role will focus on setting out works for the external groundworks package and requires a competent engineer who can operate independently on site.
This position is suitable for candidates with strong groundworks and civils experience who are available for a short-term contract.
Key Responsibilities
* Setting out for kerbs, slabs, drainage, and all external groundworks
* Reading and interpreting construction and AutoCAD drawings
* Using Total Station or similar surveying equipment to ensure accuracy
* Carrying out site measurements and checks
* Working closely with site management to meet programme requirements
* Ensuring works are completed safely and to specification
Required Experience & Skills
* Previous experience working as a Setting Out Engineer on groundworks or civils projects
* Experience on commercial, industrial, or logistics projects preferred
* Good working knowledge of AutoCAD
* Confident using Total Station or equivalent surveying instruments
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Qualifications
* Valid CSCS Card (essential)
* HNC / HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Additional Information
* £35 per hour PAYE
* 10-12 week contract
* Immediate requirement for a 26/01/26 start
* Suitable for candidates already eligible to work in the UK
