A co-educational independent day and boarding school in Horsham, West Sussex, catering for 430 students and teachers. The role involves core feeding of breakfast, lunch, and supper during term time, working mainly Monday to Friday with a busy hospitality operation. We seek a talented Chef De Partie with pastry experience to join our team at one of our prestigious locations in Horsham.
You should have previous experience in a fast-paced kitchen at CDP or junior sous chef level, with a passion for working with fresh seasonal ingredients and creating bespoke menus. Creativity and skill showcase are encouraged.
Key responsibilities:
1. Work effectively within a team providing catering services to pupils and staff.
2. Prepare food using fresh ingredients, from scratch, adhering to brand standards.
3. Maintain food standards and control wastage.
4. Follow Food Hygiene, Health & Safety policies, and allergen control procedures.
Required skills:
1. Genuine interest in food and excellent customer service.
2. Strong team player.
3. Innovation and passion for quality food.
4. Organised with attention to detail.
5. Understanding of food cost and wastage basics.
Knowledge / competencies:
1. Good verbal English skills.
2. Good written and reading English skills.
3. Experience in customer service or food prep environment is preferred.
