This exciting new opportunity has arisen to work within the Barts Health Perinatal Pelvic Health Service who are part of the Early Implementer system (EIS) for the NHS England Maternity Transformation Project.


The Successful candidate will work with the clinical and managerial team to provide administrative and clinical support. You will have the opportunity to develop a greater depth of knowledge of good pelvic health and the effect of pregnancy and birth on pelvic health, including problems relating to any symptom of pelvic floor dysfunction and be able to transfer that knowledge to women and birthing people through 1:1 or group sessions. You will be trained by and work under the supervision of our Pelvic Health Physiotherapy team and the Therapy Admin Manager who will provide range of training and development opportunities.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder is a key member of the Barts Health women’s health physiotherapy service and will be required to undertake duties mainly at Whipps Cross Hospital. On occasions the post holder may be asked to travel to other trust sites as requested by the B7/8 women’s Health Physiotherapist.

The post-holder will assist the women’s Health Physiotherapists in providing a high standard service to inpatients and outpatients; and provide administrative support. Under the supervision of women’s Health Physiotherapists, the post-holder will assist in the provision of therapy through assessment, planning and implementation of therapy programmes to adults with a range of women’s health disorders. The post-holder will also be required to carry out rehabilitation programmes with the wider caseload where the need arises and there is capacity to do so. The post-holder will be expected to carry out administrative and departmental duties, including data inputting, filing, archiving, booking, and cancelling appointments, preparing, and developing therapy equipment, monitoring equipment stock and placing orders, under the direction of the women’s Health Physiotherapists

1. Experience of working with adults with health or social care needs

30. An NVQ or equivalent (e.g. ‘A’ levels) in a related area e.g. healthcare
31. Competence/skills in working with adults in a health care setting through in-service training, development or experience and attendance at formal training courses equivalent to NVQ Level 3.
