Previous experience within property, lettings or client accounts would be advantageous.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join a well-established and growing business in Shrewsbury.
Working as part of a supportive finance team, you will play a key role in the day-to-day financial administration of the residential lettings portfolio, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. This position would suit a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Sales Ledger Clerk or Credit Controller looking to develop their career within a professional and friendly environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain sales ledger of the Lettings portfolio, including monthly rent demand generation, receipting of rents and monitoring aged debtors.
* Transfer funds collected to clients, including raising appropriate management fees and processing client statements.
* Carry out regular reconciliations of the Lettings bank accounts.
* Process tenant deposits, including receipting and transferring funds to designated deposit accounts, reconciling deposit registers and returning deposits when required.
* Open and close individual deposit bank accounts.
* Process card payments into the Lettings Account and allocate receipts appropriately.
* Complete annual regulatory compliance checks relating to the maintenance of tenant deposits.
* Ensure accurate financial records are maintained at all times.
* Support the wider finance team with ad hoc accounting and administrative duties as required.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
* Previous experience within a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Sales Ledger or similar finance role.
* Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work towards deadlines.
* A self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Experience working effectively within a team environment.
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
* A professional and confidential approach to handling financial information.
