Indie College is a not-for-profit Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that delivers nationally recognised training.

Indie College supports young people and adults to re-engage back into education who may have disengaged or are impacted by personal or health circumstances. We explore individual goals related to pathways back into school, employment, or further accredited training, whilst assisting in developing Language, Literacy, and Numeracy skills and building confidence.

Courses are delivered in one-on-one, small, or large group settings.

Indie College Southport is seeking a full-time Lead Trainer and Assessor (Lead Coach) to deliver alternative Education Programs in the Southport area.

All Trainers and Assessors must hold a current Australian Driver’s License, current qualifications equal to or above the qualification being delivered, or be willing to obtain these, as well as a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) including LLN units.

Core Workplace Objectives

* Effectively manage the day-to-day running of the allocated Indie College site(s).
* Provide a flexible, supportive approach to teach and mentor students in small groups of up to 10 students.
* Have knowledge of RTO standards, Training Packages, requirements of ASQA, and VET funding bodies.
* Demonstrate current industry skills relevant to the training being delivered.

Workplace Tasks & Key Responsibilities

* Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
* Promote and recruit students who would benefit from the program.
* Manage, support, and train Coaches; lead by example.
* Conduct program development work related to delivery.
* Assist with program inquiries, conduct Learner Enrolment interviews, including Pre-ACER testing and paperwork.
* Align Learners with Coaches and facilitate small group setups.
* Complete aXcelerate input as required.
* Perform spot checks on coach files and conduct monthly critiques.
* Meet enrolment targets.
* Maintain up-to-date Trainer, Assessor, and student lists; plan for completions/withdrawals.
* Monitor reports on overdue outcomes, attendance, scanning, and student fees.
* Audit completed files promptly.
* Monitor Coach credit card expenses.
* Foster a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.
* Manage resources efficiently.
* Manage coaching staff to support other programs.
* Attend meetings, host team meetings, and produce reports and minutes.
* Follow safe work practices and WH&S policies.
* Support the Regional Manager, Business Manager, and Deputy CEO with other duties.

Applicant Requirements

* Experience in vocational education and training, familiar with AQTF and NVR standards.
* Ability to develop, plan, and manage multiple projects.
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* Teamwork ability.
* Highly organized with attention to detail.
* Experience working with youth.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Strong communication skills (written and oral).

Essential Checks Before Start

* Current Driver’s License.
* Recent National Police Check (within 3 months).
* Current Working with Children’s Check in applicable states.

Hours

* Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:36 pm.
