We are recruiting for an RDA Technologist to join our RD&A team in Portadown. You will collaborate with the wider R&D and operations teams to drive projects through development efficiently.
This role involves supporting market success by standardizing processes for New Product Introduction trials, launches, Process Improvements, and Profit Improvement Projects (PIPs) that benefit customers and deliver commercial results.
The candidate must work cross-functionally to ensure developed concepts and recipes align with business strategy. Key activities include building relationships with Marketing, Operations, and Commercial teams, maintaining awareness of product upgrades, operational efficiencies, and PIP initiatives, all while adhering to Kerry’s Purpose, Vision, and Values.
Key responsibilities
1. Interpret project briefs and coordinate gate zero meetings to secure site approval.
2. Create feasibility studies outlining project scope, timeline, and resource needs, ensuring proper project management systems are used.
3. Develop and communicate master schedules with key stakeholders.
4. Manage product and packaging development and validation processes.
5. Conduct benchtop trials, document results, and oversee pilot and scale-up trials with site teams, ensuring compliance with site processes.
6. Compile comprehensive documentation, including nutritional information and shelf life data.
7. Coordinate costings with procurement and finance, and communicate approvals to relevant parties.
8. Maintain trial records digitally and physically, capturing outcomes accurately.
9. Present new concepts to site SLT and stakeholders, ensuring accurate costings aligned with factory capabilities.
10. Perform post-launch reviews of product quality through consistency panels.
Additional duties include preparing product samples, maintaining NPD work areas, supporting commercialization processes, ensuring quality transfer during trials and post-launch, supporting brand/customer goals, preparing presentation materials with the R&D team, staying informed on market and consumer trends, and managing technical documentation for customer specifications and artwork approval.
Qualifications and skills
* Degree in Food Science or related field, or relevant industry experience.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP and Optiva is advantageous.
* Fluent in English.
* Capable of working accurately in a fast-paced environment, independently and with attention to detail.
* Excellent organizational and communication skills.
* Self-motivated, with strong interpersonal skills and team collaboration ability.
