We are seeking a commercially focused General Manager to lead our sales and service operations in the UK. The ideal candidate will excel in building customer relationships and developing staff. This role is based in the Midlands with UK travel required, and experience in selling capital equipment and maintenance/service contracts is essential.
BASIC SALARY: £70,000 - £80,000

JOB DESCRIPTION: General Manager / Strategic Sales Manager in Industrial and Heavy Manufacturing sectors.
Reporting directly to the UK Managing Director, you will succeed a long-standing predecessor and have opportunities to influence change and enhance customer engagement. Managing a business segment with approximately £7m turnover, comprising £5m in equipment sales and £2m in service revenue, you will oversee 5 direct and 15 indirect reports across the UK.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Lead and develop UK Sales and Service teams to meet revenue targets aligned with company goals.
* Set sales objectives and strategies, motivating the team accordingly.
* Oversee leadership functions including coaching, performance management, recruitment, and training.
* Manage and develop Key Account Managers / National Account Managers.
* Enhance the after-sales and service teams to maximize revenue and relevance.
* Report regularly on sales performance to senior management.
* Conduct market analysis to identify competition and revenue opportunities.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
* Proven success in sales and people leadership, preferably in capital equipment manufacturing.
* Experience across Vehicle Maintenance, Heavy Vehicles, Plant, Truck and Bus, Off Highway, Military, Defence, Tram, or Rail sectors.
* Strong presence and influence to drive sales strategy and represent the company professionally.
* Managed sales budgets of £5-15 million.
* Experience selling both capital equipment and accompanying service offerings.
