Cognitive Behavioural Therapist – Edgbaston
Mindplace Edgbaston, Birmingham B15 3BU – Permanent part‑time role (minimum 2 days per week). Competitive salary plus Bupa benefits. We welcome discussions around flexible working patterns and current arrangements.
Session Requirements
* Early shift: 08:00‑16:00, late shift: 14:00‑22:00 Monday‑Friday.
* At least one shift must be a late shift.
* Saturdays 08:30‑17:00 (at least 1 in every 3 weekends, may vary by location).
* Each day includes 5 appointments.
Your Role
The Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist will provide high‑quality, safe, and effective CBT.
Role Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality CBT or brief interventions achieving excellent clinical outcomes.
* Provide comprehensive assessments and formulations that drive evidence‑based intervention.
* Deliver service via face‑to‑face, telephone or video consultations based on client preference.
* Adhere to Bupa’s case‑management processes and collaborate with Clinical Leads and the therapy team.
* Apply sessional limits according to the client’s private medical insurance, while working towards therapeutic recovery goals.
* Provide sign‑posting or onward referral as required.
* Provide ad‑hoc or one‑off wellbeing support and coaching as required.
* Provide one‑off assessments and referral recommendations when required.
* Work at a client‑level to provide group psycho‑education, raising awareness of mental health and wellbeing.
* Work autonomously within professional guidelines and Bupa’s service policies and procedures.
* Attend regular clinical supervision (individual and group) in line with BUPA and professional body guidelines.
* Work with the operational and clinical team to identify ways to improve client and employee experiences.
Essential
Key Skills / Qualifications
* Post‑graduate Diploma in CBT (CBT/High Intensity) BABCP accredited.
* Full accreditation with British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
* At least 2 years of experience providing high‑intensity CBT interventions for working‑age clients.
Desirable
* Training and accreditation in additional specialised areas (e.g., EMDR).
* Corporate experience and business understanding.
* Excellent leadership and management skills.
Key Skills & Experience
* General adult mental health specialism experience.
* Proficient in IT – Microsoft systems and electronic medical record systems.
* Ability to evaluate, plan and prioritise workload in demanding time frames.
* Experience of customer service and client liaison.
* Excellent clinical knowledge, presentation and communication skills.
* Strong professional and personal drive; enthusiastic, self‑motivated and self‑sufficient.
* Rapid decision making, teamwork, problem‑solving and effective diary management.
* High standards in written and oral communication; diverse clinical experience.
