St Leonard’s Hospice is recruiting a Hospice Practitioner to provide care for patients on our in-patient unit and support our community-facing Hospice@Home service. Based at the Hospice, our Hospice Practitioners work with the existing team of experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Resident doctors and Consultants in Palliative Medicine to ensure patients receive responsive and high quality care.
Along with the above, your main duties will be to:
* Provide support and advice to community and hospital specialist palliative care teams and other professionals
* Actively participate in multi-disciplinary team discussions and meetings
* Support the development of clinical governance, including evidencing a commitment to clinical audit, risk management, staff development, within the Hospice governance framework
Our ideal candidates will:
* Be a doctor with a minimum completion of the foundation years training
* Have excellent communication skills and be able to adapt their style to different audiences
* Be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and provide leadership and direction
* Have experience in clinical governance, education and advance care planning
Experience within palliative care would be an advantage however your overriding quality will be that you are committed to putting Hospice patients and their families at the centre of all clinical decision making.

This is a part-time position working 1 day per week (2 sessions) and a discussion can take place at interview with regards to which day of the week. There will also be a requirement to be part of the non-resident IPU on-call rota which is currently 1 in 6 nights which equates to a further 2 sessions per week.
