JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity to join a growing contracts team as a Fire Sprinkler Mechanical Design Engineer. The ideal candidate should be proficient in AutoCAD, design checklists, documentation processes, and designing automatic sprinkler systems.
As a Fire Sprinkler Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing automatic sprinkler systems in line with industry standards and company expectations.
This is a hands-on role requiring site visits, collaboration across departments, and a commitment to quality and safety.
DUTIES
* Designing and developing sprinkler systems according to BSEN 12845, BS9251, NFPA, and FM Global standards
* Producing and reviewing detailed design drawings and hydraulic calculations, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards
* Attending contract handover meetings, conducting site checks, verifying pipe routes, and collaborating with the Design Manager to resolve design issues
* Preparing and issuing final construction drawings, producing “As Fitted” drawings, and supporting continuous improvement efforts
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
* Experience in designing automatic sprinkler systems
* Knowledge of LPC/BS EN 12845, NFPA, FM Global Datasheets, and FHC rules
* Ability to perform hydraulic calculations and work towards LPCB design qualifications
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with design checklists and documentation processes
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Willingness to attend training and participate in company meetings and projects
* Valid UK driving licence
