<div><h3>Practice Accounts and Tax Manager - NHS / GP Clients, London £55,000 - £60,000 per annum</h3><p>We are working with a national Accountancy Practice, and we are seeking an experienced Accounts and Tax Manager to join our growing team. This role is ideally suited to a professional with a background in GP accounts, NHS payroll, NHS Pension Scheme administration, and taxation. Applications are welcomed from both part-qualified and fully qualified candidates (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent), as well as individuals qualified through relevant experience. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of GP clients, delivering high-quality accounting, payroll, tax, pension, and advisory services while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements. Candidates must have practical experience working with GP practices and/or an understanding of NHS payroll processes and NHS Pension Scheme requirements.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><h3>NHS Payroll & Pension Administration</h3><ul><li>Review and oversee NHS payroll processing for GP practices.</li><li>Ensure NHS Pension Scheme compliance and accurate pension administration.</li><li>Review and submit superannuation certificates.</li><li>Liaise with NHS agencies regarding pension matters and payroll-related queries.</li><li>Obtain and review Annual Allowance Pension Savings Statements (AAPSS).</li><li>Calculate Annual Allowance positions and complete associated RPPS reporting requirements.</li><li>Advise GP partners on pension and payroll-related matters where appropriate.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications & Experience</h3><ul><li>Part-qualified or fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent), or qualified through relevant experience.</li><li>Demonstrable experience working with GP practices, including GP accounts, NHS payroll, and NHS Pension Scheme administration.</li><li>Strong understanding of NHS pension regulations, superannuation certificates, Annual Allowance calculations, and associated reporting requirements.</li><li>Strong experience in tax compliance and client advisory services.</li><li>Sound knowledge of UK tax regulations and filing requirements.</li><li>Experience managing client relationships and reviewing the work of junior team members is advantageous.</li><li>Proficiency in relevant accounting, payroll, and tax software packages.</li></ul><h3>Ideal Experience</h3><ul><li>GP practice accounting experience and/or NHS payroll experience.</li><li>NHS Pension Scheme administration experience.</li><li>Preparation and review of superannuation certificates.</li><li>Annual Allowance and pension tax calculations.</li><li>Preparation and review of GP partnership accounts.</li><li>Client-facing advisory experience.</li></ul><h3>Tax Compliance</h3><ul><li>Prepare and file tax returns accurately and within agreed deadlines.</li><li>Maintain compliance with relevant tax regulations and internal quality standards.</li><li>Identify, investigate, and resolve tax-related issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.</li><li>Maintain clear, accurate, and complete working papers to support tax computations and filings.</li></ul><h3>Client Service</h3><ul><li>Communicate professionally with clients, manage expectations, and provide timely responses.</li><li>Build and maintain strong client relationships to enhance client satisfaction and retention.</li><li>Provide practical and proactive advice to clients on accounting, tax, and financial matters.</li></ul><h3>Team Collaboration</h3><ul><li>Work effectively with UK and offshore teams to achieve departmental objectives.</li><li>Provide technical guidance, problem-solving support, and training to colleagues.</li><li>Support the development and mentoring of junior team members.</li><li>Be approachable and available to assist both colleagues and clients.</li></ul><h3>Operational Excellence</h3><ul><li>Effectively manage workloads and priorities to ensure deadlines are met.</li><li>Respond promptly to emails, client queries, and internal requests.</li><li>Maintain high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism.</li><li>Support process improvements to enhance client service delivery and operational effectiveness.</li></ul><h3>Continuous Development</h3><ul><li>Demonstrate a positive attitude and commitment to ongoing professional development.</li><li>Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation, accounting standards, and NHS Pension Scheme regulations.</li><li>Seek guidance when appropriate and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.</li><li>Assist with onboarding and training of new team members where required.</li></ul><h3>Office Location</h3><p>Office Location: You can work from any of our clients office locations, mainly based in SE England (London, Croydon, Farnham, Southampton, and 10 other locations). Office-based during probation, with hybrid working arrangements available for discussion upon successful completion of probation.</p><h3>Salary & Benefits</h3><p>Salary: £55,000-£60,000 per annum. Holiday and pension benefits, hybrid working and a study package after probation. Working hours Monday to Friday 9-5 pm, 37.5 hours a week.</p></div>
