The highly regarded and forward‑thinking radiology department at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a breast imaging radiologist in response to growing demand. The role involves exposure to screening and symptomatic service. We are seeking 1 radiologist based in the Breast screening unit at Royal Hampshire County Hospital.
Main duties of the job
* Have experience in breast and general radiology and undertake share reporting depending on experience.
* Work as an HHFT Locum Consultant/Specialist and may be asked to work at any of our sites (Basingstoke, Winchester or Andover). Precise details to be agreed in a job plan with reasonable accommodation.
* Contribute to the running of the department, rewarded with SPA allocation per level of contribution.
* Participate in regular discrepancy (REALM) meetings, consultant meetings, and quarterly strategy meetings (largely online).

Person Specification: Essential
* Professional qualifications: FRCR (or equivalent); for Locum Consultant – holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or within six months of CCT date at the time of interview; for Specialist – 12 years postgraduate with 6 years in specialty.
* Experience & knowledge: Subspecialty radiology experience required for each post; solid background in general radiology and experience reporting plain films, ultrasound, CT and MRI.
* Skills & ability: Ability to supervise, cover and report on examinations by radiographers and specialist registrars; experience in conducting clinico‑radiological meetings or MDTs; willingness to use Voice Recognition systems.
* Research & teaching: Willingness to participate in teaching to promote role expansion and skill mix among radiographic staff; willingness to teach medical students and junior medical staff.
* Other requirements: Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to work under pressure and prioritise; ability to contribute to the running of the department.

* Higher qualification (MRCP or FRCS)
* Relevant UK NHS experience
* Fellowship training in subspecialty area
* Ability to mentor and audit reporting radiographers
* Ability to cross cover for colleagues at MDTs
* Experience in teaching; peer review publications
