We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join our highly respected and forward-thinking Mathematics Department in a role that can be shaped around your experience. Whether you are an early-career teacher looking for a supportive environment to grow, a primary specialist looking for a change, or an experienced practitioner ready for your next challenge, we would be thrilled to hear from you.

Our department is at the forefront of mathematics development within Southampton, with strong partnerships including the AMSP, Maths Hubs and local universities. We actively encourage staff to engage with current research, refine their pedagogy, and experiment thoughtfully in their teaching.

We are proud to have an NCETM-accredited Maths Hubs Secondary Mathematics Specialist and an experienced Lead Practitioner within the team, providing high-quality coaching, collaborative development, and structured support for colleagues at every stage of their career.

This role provides the chance to inspire students, contribute to a strong and collaborative team, and develop your professional practice within a dynamic and inclusive school community. With a focus on high-quality teaching, curriculum innovation, and strong relationships, you will play a key part in helping our students develop confidence and ambition in mathematics.

About the Role

As a Teacher of Mathematics, you will deliver engaging, well-structured lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 depending on experience). You will join a supportive department committed to raising achievement, shaping an ambitious curriculum, and developing a positive culture of learning.

Your main responsibilities will include:

* Planning and delivering high-quality lessons that support, stretch, and inspire students of all abilities.
* Contributing to the development and refinement of a well-sequenced and inclusive mathematics curriculum.
* Using a range of assessment strategies to track progress, identify misconceptions, and inform teaching.
* Creating a purposeful, supportive classroom environment where students feel valued and motivated.
* Working collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and to continually improve outcomes.
* Participating fully in school life, including enrichment and departmental activities.
* Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance pedagogy, subject knowledge, and leadership skills.

We offer a highly supportive programme for Early Career Teachers, including mentoring, training, and tailored professional development.
For experienced teachers, the role will provide opportunities to contribute to wider departmental projects and initiatives.

* Passionate about mathematics and committed to high-quality, inclusive teaching.
