Job Summary
The role is based in Ward 44, a Care of the Elderly ward. You will lead as a charge nurse, working closely with the ward manager and multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality nursing care, promote staff development, and maintain a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the department/ward manager in monitoring and maintaining nursing care standards.
* Supervise junior qualified and unqualified nursing staff, including student nurses.
* Ensure policies and standards are adhered to and maintained throughout the ward.
* Maintain a safe working environment for patients and staff.
* Collaborate with specialist teams to deliver integrated care.
* Participate in service development and staff training initiatives.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
* Registered Nurse (RGN) with current NMC registration.
* Previous experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated team working and supervisory ability.
* Evidence of continued professional development (CPD).
* Knowledge of risk management principles.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
* Specialist experience relevant to the ward.
* Mentorship or leadership qualification.
* Leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
Other Requirements
* UK professional registration.
* Subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
* Candidate may need a certificate of sponsorship if requiring skilled worker immigration status.
