My client, a well-established, family-owned contractor require a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial Team on their HS2 contract in Aylesbury.
Here are some of the activities you will be involved with:
1. Management of subcontractors and accounts
2. Supporting the Commercial Manager and management of the commercial team
3. Management of client disputes and internal auditing
4. Maintaining the commercial risk register
5. Overseeing weekly valuations and confirming accuracy of measurements
6. Cost analysis and cost reduction initiatives.
7. Contract review and rates analysis
8. Production of CVR’s for all projects

You will have significant commercial experience within a contractor setting, with a strong track record of motivating others and achieving shared goals. Your background will include the management of a variety of contracts and complex contractual arrangements, supported by solid technical construction knowledge. Previous experience in a client facing position preferred.
You should bring highly developed commercial awareness and demonstrable experience operating at Senior Quantity Surveyor level with NEC3 Option A experience. Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—are essential, as is your ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, from colleagues to clients. We’re also looking for someone with a resourceful approach, capable of working under pressure without compromising on attention to detail. Ideally, you will have demonstrable experience of self-delivery in an infrastructure environment and be confident managing subcontract procurement and contract administration.
