Offer description

With Every Community, Stantec Redefines What’s Possible.

Application Deadline

Recruitment is ongoing. Please apply as soon as possible as the advert may close once we have sufficient applicants.

Your Role

We are seeking a Graduate Bridge Engineer to join our 2026 Graduate Programme, based in Birmingham or Northampton. As a Stantec graduate, you will collaborate with your team and wider cohort, developing your bridge engineering expertise within an exciting, creative, and interdisciplinary environment.

This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and accomplished team of engineers specialising in bridges and civil structures. As part of a wider UK network, you will gain exposure to a diverse range of projects, from initial conceptualisation through to long-term asset management. You will contribute to the design, maintenance, and inspection of bridges, applying advanced analysis software and sound technical judgement.

Working closely with experienced mentors, you will be involved in all stages of project delivery—from site visits to technical report writing. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you will help deliver innovative bridge designs while building a strong foundation in structural engineering. You will join a supportive and successful team with excellent career opportunities, client exposure, and professional development in an innovative and collaborative environment.

About You

At Stantec, we value your potential over past experience. Along with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, we are looking for graduates who are:

* An Adapter – able to remain calm in new and changing situations, comfortably switching between a variety of dynamic tasks.
* A Perseverer – composed in the face of setbacks, approaching challenges with confidence and determination.
* A Collaborator – effective at working with different people, considering others’ perspectives to shape better outcomes.
* A Problem-Solver – keen to share considered ideas and unafraid to challenge conventional thinking.

Working Pattern

To support your development, we ask our graduates to attend the office four days per week to ensure sufficient time with your team and the appropriate level of support.

What We Can Offer You

* A competitive salary
* Private medical insurance
* A range of benefits, including holiday buy and sell, group income protection, and life assurance
* Permanent employment contract, reflecting our commitment to your long-term career at Stantec
* Professional progression plan, supporting you to gain professional chartership
* A supportive and collaborative team environment, Early Careers peer community, and access to Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
