Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced therapeutic radiographer to join the Radiotherapy department at the Royal Free London as a band 7 Radiographer. We are looking for a candidate with excellent team leadership and communication skills who will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the treatment units ensuring delivery of a high level of service and patient care. Patients are at the heart of what we do so we are looking for therapeutic radiographers who can provide excellent care with compassion and respect. All radiographers in bands 5 – 7 roles have the opportunity to rotate through pre-treatment and treatment.


Responsibilities

* Accurately interpret treatment prescriptions and treatment plans using knowledge gained during training and postgraduate experience. This will include making judgements regarding the daily treatment setup and delivery for each patient. This interpretation and judgment skill will be at a high level and the senior radiographer will be considered a technical expert in the general fields of radiotherapy. Complex treatments and situations will be referred to the senior radiographer who must have the technical and analytical skills to deal with them effectively.
* Maintain an efficient, communicative, and flexible service so that the patient pathway is continuous.


Department details

The Royal Free Radiotherapy Department has 2 Varian TrueBeams with Aria. There is an orthovoltage unit, a Toshiba CT-scanner, Pinnacle TPS, VMAT, IGRT, SABR and respiratory gated/motion managed radiotherapy. The department is accredited ISO 9001:2015.
