Your role and responsibilities
Bring your passion for preserving history to an exciting role with Suffolk County Council's Archives service! As an Assistant Service Manager, you'll play a vital part in delivering archive services and outreach programs across the county. Based in our Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich locations, you'll support the management of searchroom operations, digitisation projects, community events and more. This is a unique opportunity to share your expertise in areas like archival research, customer service, staff supervision and project delivery. You'll handle complex enquiries, manage resource planning, develop engaging tours and exhibitions, and drive initiatives to expand access to Suffolk's heritage. With your strong organisational skills and creative flair, you'll ensure effective day-to-day operations while continually enhancing the archives experience for diverse audiences countywide
