Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to earn while you learn?

Our apprenticeship programme has been designed with you in mind. Join our team as an Apprentice HGV Technician where you will be trained by our in-house professionals, work alongside existing skilled technicians, and learn at our very own training academy.

Throughout this three-year apprenticeship, we will help you grow into an experienced technician, becoming an expert on a wide range of heavy vehicles including trucks, buses, coaches and even marine engines.

Roles and Responsibilities - You Will:

1. Work alongside a qualified Technician to learn how to carry out repairs according to Scania procedures in a safe and responsible manner
2. Be trained on how to service, maintain and repair Scania vehicles which have the latest technology
3. Learn the fundamentals of heavy vehicle technologies – heavy vehicle chassis, engine, fuels, transmissions, hydraulic and air braking, electrical systems, and testing
4. Be taught how to set up accessories and specific equipment on the vehicles
5. Ensure appropriate work logs are kept for all vehicles, and all job cards and service sheets are completed in a timely manner
6. Maintain high morale and focus to ensure productive efficiency, quality of workmanship, and customer confidence
7. Represent Scania professionally and courteously when dealing with customers and the public
8. Communicate effectively with other departments
9. Adhere to Scania's Core Values

About You:

No previous experience is required. We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals interested in repairing and maintaining vehicles. Strong problem-solving skills are an asset.

Training

During your apprenticeship, you will attend Scania’s training academy for 18 weeks over 32 months. Travel and accommodation expenses are paid by the employer. Remit will provide comprehensive training, including IMI Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician, IRTEC Accreditation, and Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths if applicable.
