Are you an experienced Buyer looking to make an impact in a varied and fast‑paced procurement role? Join Elysium Healthcare as a Buyer supporting our Facilities & Maintenance category and play a key role in delivering value, quality, and performance across a diverse spend portfolio.
In this role, you will support the Facilities & Maintenance Category Manager across a range of categories totalling approximately £48 million, including property, HVAC, fleet, waste, medical equipment, utilities, and water testing. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will ensure procurement activities align with both clinical needs and wider business objectives, helping to deliver cost‑effective and high‑quality outcomes across the organisation. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate contract and supplier data to support compliance and informed decision‑making, while contributing to supplier rationalisation and standardisation initiatives that drive efficiency and savings. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will help ensure procurement processes are streamlined, compliant, and aligned with organisational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting the Category Manager with all Facilities & Maintenance spend.
* Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and facilitate opportunities for innovation.
* Assisting with supplier relationship management including tracking KPIs and holding quarterly review meetings.
* Taking ownership of smaller spend categories within the F&M space with the support of the Category Manager.
* Tracking contract end and renewal dates and working with the legal team to implement a contracts register.
* Ongoing analysis of volume‑value reports to ensure the company is realising the benefits of the contracts in place.
* Supporting in the writing of ITT and RFI documentation and assisting with running tenders through the company eProcurement platform.
* Supporting the project management of complex procurement activities from initial specification stage to contract award.
* Compiling and maintaining product catalogues in the ERP system.
* Assisting the Category Manager in supplier and product rationalisation and standardisation activities to identify synergies and drive savings.
* Tracking savings and quality benefits.
* Use of internal reporting information management tools.
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience in a Buyer role within a fast‑paced environment.
* Experience managing multiple procurement projects simultaneously.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
* Experience in supplier relationship management and performance monitoring.
* Exposure to tendering processes including ITT and RFI documentation.
* Experience in healthcare or clinical procurement.
* Strong understanding of procurement principles and practices.
* Familiarity with ERP systems and eProcurement platforms.
Other Requirements
* Flexibility in working hours and location, as per contract of employment.
* Able to travel to Borehamwood office and other locations as required.
* Willingness to attend meetings and events outside of normal working hours.
