About the Role:
The role is a fixed-term contract for 12 months, providing an excellent opportunity to gain significant experience and make a meaningful impact within a dynamic team.
Working with the Transformation Programme Manager to develop and manage a business-critical migration to deliver market leading products and good customer outcomes.
A key part of the role is to ensure effective governance and oversight of internal migration activities, ensuring they align with regulations, policies, standards, and procedures and that all outsourcing contractual agreements are met.
As a Programme Manager – Migration, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a critical migration as part of a wider Transformation roadmap. This work involves the migration of data, assets, and transaction history from one platform to another, ensuring that all processes are preserved, optimised, and seamlessly transitioned. You will be responsible for shaping and executing the Migration Strategy, assessing different approaches (such as bulk asset migration versus phased migration), and providing expert recommendations on the best path forward.
You will oversee all aspects of migration planning and execution, ensuring data integrity, asset reconciliation, and transaction history continuity. Working across internal teams and third-party providers, you will coordinate activities, track and report on progress using Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Management Information (MI) and manage risks via RAID logs. With a strong focus on business readiness and customer outcomes, you will ensure that users experience a smooth transition, mitigating operational disruption. This role requires a strong technical and strategic understanding of platform migrations, excellent third-party management skills, and a keen eye for risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:
* Define and lead the Migration Strategy, providing expert recommendations such as bulk vs phased migration approaches for assets, data, and transaction history
* Plan and oversee the full migration process, ensuring the transition minimises risk, preserves critical business processes, and delivers a seamless experience for end users
* Track progress through KRIs and MI reporting, ensuring senior stakeholders have clear visibility into migration readiness and any associated risks
* Manage RAID logs and ensure robust risk mitigation strategies, identifying potential challenges early and implementing appropriate solutions to protect customer outcomes
* Engage and manage relationships with third-party providers, ensuring effective collaboration, adherence to agreed plans, and alignment of delivery expectations
* Ensure business readiness, supporting operational teams through the transition by addressing potential process changes, user impact, and system adoption
* Oversee activities from Project Managers, Business Analysts, and other contributors, ensuring seamless collaboration across internal teams and any external providers
* Ensure data integrity and process continuity, working closely with Data, Technology, and Operations teams to preserve business-critical processes during migration
* Oversee data integrity and reconciliation, ensuring assets, client records, and transaction histories are accurately transferred and validated
* Facilitate stakeholder engagement and communication, ensuring all relevant parties—including senior leadership, business teams, and external vendors—are informed and aligned
* Define and manage the RACI framework, clarifying roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities across all migration workstreams
* Work with external providers to ensure alignment between different delivery methodologies, managing expectations and driving a consistent approach to migration governance
* Manage change control and governance processes, ensuring that all migration decisions are well-documented, justified, and aligned with business objectives
* Oversee budgets and resources, ensuring efficient allocation and expenditure to keep the migration on track and within scope
* Stay ahead of regulatory and compliance considerations, ensuring the migration aligns with financial services regulations and best practices
Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
* Proven experience leading large-scale migration programmes, particularly involving platform transitions, asset transfers, and data migration. An in-depth knowledge of Wealth Management Platforms and Financial Services
* Strong understanding of platform architecture and migration strategies, with the ability to assess and recommend migration approaches and strategic direction
* Expertise in programme governance, including RAID management, change control, business readiness, and stakeholder reporting via KRIs and MI
* Excellent third-party/vendor management skills, with experience working with external providers in regulated environments
* Solid understanding of Financial Services, including the implications of data, asset and transaction history migration within a regulated framework
* Experience managing budgets and financial controls within complex migration programmes
* Strong problem-solving skills and risk management expertise, with the ability to anticipate challenges and proactively implement mitigation strategies
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, ensuring alignment across business, technology, and operational teams
* Experience working on multiple workstreams and coordinating cross-functional teams, including Project Managers, Business Analysts, and external vendors
* Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies, and experience working with external providers following different delivery approaches
