WEF has approximately 2000 pupils on roll across the trust. It develops, brokers and delivers a range of services which support learning, leadership, management and improve outcomes for children and young people. Waverley School is an all-through school for pupils aged 4-19. It has a Primary and Secondary Resource Base for pupils with cognition and learning difficulties. Waverley Studio College is a specialist academy catering for 14 – 19-year-old pupils which offers both academic and vocational qualifications. Both Waverley School and Waverley Studio College were graded ‘Good’ in their Section 5 Ofsted Inspections in September 2021 and September 2022 respectively. The primary phase of Waverley School is a larger than average primary school. We are at an exciting point in our journey, and this September will see the launch of our new nursery with 42 places for 2–4-year-olds. We believe outdoor provision is a second classroom, messy play is serious learning, and every child deserves the best start. The role: You will be the lead teacher for our Nursery provision, working with a skilled team of support staff, and working closely with our Senior Leader for EYFS. You will plan and lead high-quality provision across all 7 areas of learning, with a big focus on Communication & Language and PSED. Free-flow, all-weather outdoor learning is non-negotiable for us – wellies at the ready! We are looking for someone who: Has QTS and experience in EYFS, ideally in Nursery Understands child development and knows what ‘high quality’ looks like in practice Is passionate about play-based learning and outdoor provision Builds strong relationships with children, families, and staff – many families speak English as an Additional Language Can use data and observations to spot gaps and plan next steps Wants to contribute to a large, supportive EYFS team and whole-school life We can offer you: A spacious nursery space with indoor/outdoor free-flow Supportive SLT who know Early Years – our EYFS Lead is a Director of Learning for Early Years Excellent CPD: NPQs, a developing local EYFS network, and coaching Happy, diverse children who make you smile every day We warmly welcome and strongly encourage prospective candidates to visit the setting prior to application.
