Job description: Operations Manager – 1 year fixed term contract
Reporting to: Clinical Directors
Working Hours: 15 hours per week, some flexibility with working pattern and would
consider spread over 4 working days per week (Monday – Thursday)
Basic annual salary of £43,000 pro rata
– to be reviewed on an annual
basis
Location: Home based with occasional travel to agreed locations (mostly Bristol
based)
About us:
Arbor Neurorehabilitation Services is a community based independent neurorehabilitation team
providing seamless interdisciplinary, client-centred therapy for adults with a brain injury. We are
based in the Bristol area and cover the counties of Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Wiltshire,
Devon and South Wales. We work with adults who have an acquired brain injury or other
Neurological presentations. We are a full multi-disciplinary team made up of specialist
neuropsychologists, occupational therapists, neuro-physiotherapists and speech and language
therapists. Our referrals come from medico-legal case management companies, private
individuals, rehabilitation centres and the NHS. The core Arbor team consists of two
administrative staff, the two directors (Lead for Neuropsychology and Lead for Speech and
Language Therapy) an advanced clinical practitioner and the lead Occupational Therapist and
Physiotherapist.
Role description and responsibilities:
As Operations Manager you will be responsible for:
a) Enabling the delivery of outstanding clinical services in accordance with Arbor
objectives, targets, quality standards and resource constraints.
b) Operationalising the business development plans, alongside the directors.
c) Implementing and evaluating operational processes for efficiency and increased
workload.
d) Working alongside the senior team and accountant to implement Xero across our
business in 2026.
e) Alongside the senior team, you will identify quality and clinical process issues and
implement appropriate solutions to manage these.
f) Ensuring that all legal and clinical compliance is adhered to and maintained throughout
the organisation.
g) h) i) j) Taking the lead with staff recruitment / associate onboarding and training.
Developing a marketing strategy alongside the directors.
Being responsible for all logistics and practical service delivery issues.
Ensuring that all Arbor policies are followed and implemented appropriately and take the
lead for development of these.
k) Being an external point of contact for business development. Attending all meetings (online), minute these and ensure that actions are completed.
m) Overseeing the administrative team work.
n) Keeping afront of industry trends and advancements and feed this into business
development planning.
o) Leading communications both within and outside of the organisation.
p) Having an awareness of risk management and assessing and be able to implement
strategies to mitigate risk.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills required:
- BSc or equivalent in relevant subject (essential)
- MSc or equivalent post graduate level experience (desirable)
- Post graduate management qualification and experience
- Evidence of ongoing CPD (essential)
- Management of MDT services / clinical department (essential)
- Involvement with teaching and training (desirable)
- Project management (desirable)
- Service evaluation / improvement experience (desirable)
- Budget / financial management (essential)
- Problem solving / trouble shooting techniques (essential)
- Excellent communication skills (essential)
- Exceptional organisational skills and time management (essential)
- Proficiency in computer software systems, including practice management software
