Senior Social Worker - Long Term Locality Team
Salary: £45,830 - £51,130 (SW3) plus excellent benefits

We are working with Medway Council to recruit a Senior Social Worker to join their Adult Social Care - Long Term Locality Team. This is a vital role for an experienced social worker looking to lead, support and mentor others while maintaining a complex caseload and driving forward quality social work practice.
As a Senior Social Worker, you will offer professional supervision and guidance to a small number of staff, contribute to the delivery of early intervention and strength-based assessments, and play a key role in safeguarding, service development, and quality assurance. This is a hybrid role offering flexibility alongside direct engagement with adults, families, and partners across Medway.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage complex caseloads with high levels of risk, ensuring effective safeguarding and person-centred outcomes.
Provide professional supervision, mentoring and development for a small group of social care staff.
Lead and support quality assurance activity, including audits and service improvement planning.
Promote early intervention through holistic, strength-based assessments and care planning.
Take part in duty, lone working oversight, and contribute to service continuity.
Represent the council in multi-agency meetings, panels and forums.
Uphold Medway's values, the One Medway Plan, and its corporate responsibilities.
Requirements:
Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.
Minimum of 2-3 years' post-qualified experience in adult social care.
Proven ability in managing complex adult safeguarding cases and high-risk situations.
Experience of supervising and supporting social workers, students, or apprentices.
Knowledge of adult legislation, mental capacity, safeguarding frameworks, and strength-based practice.
Strong skills in partnership working, decision-making, and performance monitoring.
Desirable:
Practice Educator qualification and/or BIA/AMHP status.
Experience with MOSAIC case management system.
Knowledge of NHS Continuing Healthcare and the Court of Protection.
