Overview
We are seeking an experienced BSCCP (British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology)-accredited Nurse Colposcopist to join the Gynaecology team at East Cheshire NHS Trust. Working across all sites, you will practice autonomously, undertaking diagnostic, therapeutic and treatment procedures using advanced clinical judgment.
Responsibilities
* Practice autonomously across all sites, undertaking diagnostic, therapeutic and treatment procedures using advanced clinical judgment.
* Support and develop the colposcopy service to deliver safe, effective and compassionate care. Coordinate clinic capacity, work with the Lead Consultant Colposcopist, and contribute to achieving clinical objectives.
* Be trained or willing to train in surgical excisions and ablative treatments, with responsibility for clinical management and care programmes. May act as a Colposcopy trainer in line with BSCCP requirements.
* Assist the multidisciplinary team by undertaking advanced patient assessment and intervention/treatment as an independent practitioner. Develop, implement and evaluate a seamless specialist service with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure high standards of clinical care.
* Demonstrate a high level of expertise within the specialist service, providing specialist advice, education and support to health care professionals and patients. Undertake clinical audits and contribute to the development of clinical practice, standards of care, policies, protocols and guidelines; contribute to service developments with colleagues.
* Ensure the safety and wellbeing of service users and promote dignity and human rights through person-centred care principles.
Qualifications and Requirements
* BSCCP-accredited Nurse Colposcopist.
* Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required; cost payable by the successful candidate.
* If you have lived or worked abroad for 6 months or more in the last 5 years, you will need to obtain an overseas police clearance.
* Willingness to train in additional procedures and contribute to multidisciplinary service development.
