Job summary
The post holders will share in the general cross-sectional work of the department, including out-of-hours work and the Duty Radiology rota. PET CT reporting capability is advantageous as PET CT imaging is available on-site two days a week, with potential to increase to three days. Other subspecialist interests can also be developed to meet departmental needs. Experience in oncology imaging is essential, along with participation in MDTs.
Main duties of the job
The appointed candidate will work with other cross-sectional radiologists who already deliver a significant volume of service, audited for quality assurance. The role includes regular MDT meetings coordinated with team members, integrated into the job plan. Excellent core cross-sectional imaging skills and proficiency in spoken and written English are essential to support the Trust's service objectives. A strong foundation in general body and neuro imaging is required to sustain a 24-hour imaging service for this busy acute Trust, which includes an Emergency Assessment Unit, Trauma Unit, Regional Oncological Centre, Heart and Lung Centre, and Stroke Treatment Unit with endarterectomy facilities.
The post holder will contribute to the established 7-day working arrangement, including evening on-site consultant radiologist coverage until 8 pm.
