The Commercial Director is responsible for developing a commercial strategy covering all segments and channels to maximize total revenue and profit performance, as well as market share penetration of the hotel.
This role involves driving the planning and execution of the commercial strategy and activities through supporting the Revenue Management team, Sales, Catering and Events, Marketing, eCommerce, and Public Relations teams, working effectively with area support teams. F&B commercial activities will be shared responsibilities with the F&B Manager, Director of Operations, GM, and the Commercial Director.
The Commercial Director is a role model for the commercial community within the owned and managed portfolio in EMEA, developing teams and individuals in these functions and acting as a key business partner to the Hotel General Manager. They support hotels in deriving maximum value from Hilton Worldwide Sales teams. The role is crucial for seizing new opportunities through strong customer relations and representing the company with owners and key stakeholders.
The role ensures that commercial management strategies are set for all revenue streams and that all systems are utilized to their full potential to generate the highest possible revenue from all available spaces, including Rooms, Meeting Space, outlets, or other revenue departments. Driving overall FMS results by executing disciplined commercial activities to gain an unfair share.
A Commercial Director will lead, coach, develop, recruit, and retain future talents. They will manage performance, develop, and evaluate team members based on KPIs. Specific tasks include:
* Driving the Top line Budget and Forecast by implementing a commercial strategy and business plan using Hilton Worldwide tools and intelligence. Achieving minimum budgeted revenues across all streams, including Rooms, GC&E, F&B, Leisure, and Spa, with cost controls and marketing opportunities.
* Collaborating with GM, Finance, and Operations to maximize profits in line with targets.
* Ensuring Business Review Guidelines and pricing strategies are in place to maximize sales and market share.
* Supporting hotel marketing, sales, and PR activities in coordination with regional teams.
* Supporting RMCC in forecasting, demand strategies, and pricing approvals.
* Maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, owners, and hotel teams for commercial benefits.
* Liaising with VP of Operations to present strategies to regional and key stakeholders.
* Conforming to Hilton brand standards and utilizing communication tools effectively.
* Monitoring market trends and adjusting strategies accordingly.
* Participating in leadership activities at hotel and regional levels.
Leadership in a Dynamic Environment: Lead a team of 8, ensuring seamless operations in the airport setting.
Adaptability and Flexibility: Manage last-minute changes, including weekend operations.
Market Share Excellence: Maintain and grow the hotel's reputation and market share.
Revenue Optimization: Maximize the hotel's revenue of 20 million.
Award-Winning Standards: Uphold the hotel's tradition of excellence, including the Leading Airport Hotel of the Year award for the past 9 years.
Ideal candidate: Demonstrates the following capabilities:
* Experience as a Commercial Director or Manager
* RMCC, Revenue Manager, or Sales Director with revenue expertise
* At least 3+ years in hospitality/travel industry in revenue or commercial roles
* Experience presenting to senior executives
* Experience in collaborative/matrixed environments
* Ability to analyze financial data and identify opportunities
* Experience managing a sales or commercial team
* Fluent in English
* Experience in multi-complex hotel/travel environments
* Knowledge of Marketing, E-commerce, and Finance
* Highly adaptable and dynamic
* Flexible to work weekends and handle unexpected situations
