Job Title
Validations Officer – 3‑month rolling contract to assist a local authority client (Carrington West).
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure the effective validation assessment and processing of a range of applications including Householders, Trees, Minors, Change of Use, Full applications and Majors.
* Maintain the Statutory Register and similar records relating to Planning, Building and Enforcement in accordance with relevant legislation.
* Provide an effective service to customers in person, by telephone, fax, e‑mail and writing; supply information, answer queries, and manage enquiries in line with Service, department, and Council customer care requirements, ensuring accuracy to avoid litigation or costs.
* Provide duty service as required.
* Ensure timely receipt and processing of all new applications.
Qualifications and Experience
* Previous experience as a Validations Officer in a local authority planning department.
* Good fundamental and technical knowledge of planning legislation.
* Beneficial to hold a Post‑graduate degree in Planning, Regeneration or a related discipline.
* Eligibility for membership of RTPI.
Working Arrangements & Compensation
* Hybrid working arrangements – flexible.
* Pay Rate: £35 per hour.
