BREWERY MANAGER Wigram Brewing Company is one of Canterbury’s oldest craft breweries. Established in 2003 Wigram has been brewing award winning beers for 22 years. In 2022 Wigram opened their taproom Hangar57 & this year a woodfired pizzeria. After 23 years at the brewery helm Wigram’s current owner/manager is stepping back from brewery oversite to concentrate on further developing other areas in the business. We are looking for a motivated Brewery manager to join our small team. You must have a passion for beer and brewing, enjoy working in a small team and champion our commitment to producing quality beers and ales. This is a unique opportunity to join an established craft brewery, lead an awesome team & be instrumental in its growth & continued success.
Responsibilities
* Strategic & Operational Leadership: Develop and implement business strategies, manage daily operations, and ensure the brewery meets its production and quality goals
* Monitoring & improving efficiency: Yield & wastage reduction, ensure quality & efficiency & adherence to industry standards
* Team Management: Lead, coach, and develop brewery staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
* Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, health and safety standards, and operational policies
* Financial Management: Manage budgets, track production costs, & contribute to the overall profitability of the brewery
* Quality Control: Oversee the brewing process, ensuring the consistent production of high-quality beer through rigorous testing & adherence to industry standards
Qualifications
* Brewing Knowledge: experience of brewing processes, fermentation, & quality control.
* An IBD Diploma in Brewing qualification or equivalent
* Leadership & Management: Proven ability to lead & motivate a team.
* Technical Skills: Experience with brewing machinery & maintenance, & experience in inventory management
* Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, & organisational skills.
* Communication: Strong communication & interpersonal skills
Location – Christchurch City, Canterbury
Job type – Full time
Duration – Permanent
Approximate pay – $60K – $80K annually
