The job itself
I am looking for a support worker to take me out and help me access activities and sessions, for 6 hours per week in the school holidays. I am 6 years old and live in Hornsea with my Mum, Dad and siblings. I have Autism, developmental delay, and social communication difficulties.
I have a cheeky personality and have big brown eyes; I like to be around my peers and familiar adults. I am inquisitive and like to explore the environment, I need an adult to keep me safe when out as I don’t understand environmental dangers.
I have favourite toys, I like to play with jigsaws, blocks, books and in particular my tablet and watching The Paddington Bear show. I love to be running, jumping on the trampoline, playing, and exploring outside. I am very sensory, and like tactile activities such as paint, water, sand, gloop, bubbles I seek out sensory experience’s lights and water.
I need someone to help me stay safe when out in the community or and at home. I need someone who is patient, fun and will help me experience new activities. I can become frustrated when I don’t understand what's happening, I need someone to keep me safe both when outside and indoors. It is important that you support me with my independence, with personal care and nappy changing if we are out in the community.
