Health Care Support Worker Mental Health
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Health Care Support Worker to join the team on St Non Ward (Acute Older Adult Mental Health inpatient ward) at the Bro Cerwyn Centre, Haverfordwest. The ward assesses and cares for older people with complex mental and physical health concerns. It is a functional/organic (dementia) mixed ward with both male and female admissions.
The position is 37.5 hours per week on a permanent basis, including day and night shifts: 07.00-15.00, 13.30-21.30, 21.00-07.10. Part-time hours may be considered.
Staff are provided with a supportive environment and opportunities for professional development.
Main duties of the job
If you enjoy working in a busy environment, we would like to hear from you. Successful applicants will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and must be flexible to meet the needs of the service, providing 24-hour cover, 365 days a year, including nights.
Proficiency in Welsh is desirable; applications from English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge
* NVQ 2 or equivalent experience
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
* Commitment to working towards NVQ Level 3
Experience
* Experience working with people with mental health problems and their carers
* Experience in high dependency or intensive care environments
Language Skills
* Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This role requires a DBS check in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
Salary: £24,833 per annum (pro-rata if part-time).
