Role Purpose
As a FTSE 100, £5bn turnover Group, Entain offers a challenging, fast-paced environment with opportunities for progression and development within a supportive setting.
You will be a key member of the Statutory Reporting team, responsible for providing accurate and timely information for internal and external stakeholders, including the Group Finance Director, CFO, and Board of Directors. This role involves managing monthly group and external statutory reporting for a multinational, FTSE 100 group, including the Plc Annual Report, half-year statements, monthly management accounts, and board presentations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage financial accounting and monthly reporting for the Group's finance companies, ensuring correct accounting treatments for items such as derivatives and loans in accordance with IFRS, including monthly postings and reconciliations.
2. Oversee and understand Group intercompany balances, working proactively with divisions to investigate and reduce discrepancies.
3. Deliver monthly and quarterly reports on Group cash and leverage, reconciling management and statutory data, and explaining variances.
4. Prepare quarterly reforecasts for cash and leverage, collaborating with divisional finance teams and treasury to understand key drivers and impacts.
5. Support the delivery of the Plc Annual Report and Accounts (ARA) and half-year reports, including preparing notes and schedules, coordinating data collection, and meeting deadlines.
6. Serve as the key contact for auditors, preparing audit deliverables and addressing audit queries.
7. Assist with period-end consolidation adjustments and review sections of the ARA for accuracy and consistency.
8. Act as a point of contact for divisions on accounting questions, providing oversight of divisional balance sheets.
9. Work with the Group Technical Accountant to analyze the impact of financial reporting developments, proactively addressing issues with the Board and auditors.
10. Learn from team members to expand knowledge and cover absences as needed.
11. Handle ad hoc analysis requests and projects from senior management.
Qualifications
* Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with 6-18 months post-qualified experience.
* Advanced knowledge of FRS101/102 and IFRS.
* Proficient in IFRS reporting standards.
* Experience in a group finance environment, either in industry or auditing.
* Advanced Excel skills.
* Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
* Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
* Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
