Burlish Park Primary School are recruiting a Lunchtime Supervisor on a temporary basis to support a named child during the lunchtime period, ensuring their safety and wellbeing during lunchtime routines and activities. This temporary role is a 1:1 position requiring patience, care and the ability to foster a positive lunchtime experience in line with our STARS values. Job Description Key responsibilities: Support a named child on a 1:1 basis during the lunchtime period, ensuring their safety, and wellbeing. Promote and model positive behaviour, in line with the school’s behaviour policy. Encourage and support the child’s during lunchtime and playground activities. Assist the child with eating, toileting (if required), and transitioning between areas (e.g., dining hall to playground). Implement strategies and routines as directed by the class teacher and/or SENCo to meet the child’s individual needs. Monitor the child’s emotional and physical wellbeing, reporting any concerns to the appropriate staff. Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for the child during lunchtime activities. Work effectively as part of the wider lunchtime supervision team, while maintaining focus on the named child. Attend relevant training or briefings as required for the role. Hall Duties To ensure the health and safety of the named child at all times. Supporting the named pupil while they eat their lunch and making sure tables are clean. To positively encourage good behaviour, health eating and good table manners. Ensure food and water spillages are dealt with promptly. To help to set up and clear away the lunchtime area before and after the lunchtime period when required. Outdoor Duties To ensure the health and safety of the named child at all times. To use initiative in monitoring events occurring on the school premises and grounds. To encourage play activities my modelling and taking part if necessary. Organise and lead suitable play activities for children. Classroom Duties To work under the direction of the class teacher. To liaise with the named child’s class teacher and one to one teaching assistant. General Duties Report accidents and complete accident form if necessary. Ensure the behaviour policy is implemented and seek advise on how to deal with individuals as needed from Senior Management. Support the work of the staff and other supervisory assistants. To escort the children to and from the dining area and ensure their safety at all times. Supervise children at all times, indoors and outdoors Record inappropriate pupil behaviour and convey serious incidents to the Headteacher Maintain checks throughout the lunchbreak to ensure pupils are safe. Attend to and report any minor first aid accidents or injuries or pupils who become ill. To adhere to the need for confidentiality at all times. To be responsible for promoting the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils. Intimate care, if required.
