Key Responsibilities: Preparation and Support: Prepare resources and equipment for a variety of DT lessons across all year groups, ensuring they align with the National Curriculum. Maintain the DT workshop in a safe and organized manner, adhering to all health and safety regulations. Assist teachers in setting up practical activities and demonstrations. Support the smooth running of practical sessions by providing technical expertise and guidance to students. Oversee the safe and responsible use of tools and machinery within the workshop. Technical Expertise: Perform routine maintenance and calibration of DT equipment. Undertake minor repairs and troubleshooting of tools and machinery. Assist with the procurement and organization of new DT materials and resources. Maintain a comprehensive inventory of tools and equipment. Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with DT teachers to develop and implement practical projects within the curriculum. Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members. Contribute to the overall operation of the DT department through effective teamwork. Be a positive and supportive presence within the school community. The Ideal Candidate: Possesses a relevant qualification or significant experience in Design & Technology, engineering, or a related field. Demonstrates a strong understanding of health and safety regulations within a workshop environment. Has excellent organizational and time management skills. Maintains a meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to high standards. Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students and staff.
