Job Title: Offshore Marine Site Agent / Sub Agent – Fish Return Tunnel System, Hinkley Point C

Location: Hinkley Point C, Somerset

Contract Type: Permanent / Long-term Contract

Sector: Offshore Marine Civil Engineering / Major Infrastructure

Shift Pattern: 14 days on, 7 days off

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Marine Site Agent / Sub Agent to join the delivery team working on the Fish Return Tunnel System at Hinkley Point C — one of Europe’s most complex and high-profile infrastructure projects.

The role will involve overseeing the construction of key elements of the marine civil engineering works, including in-situ concrete structures, marine outfall connections, tunnel interfaces, and associated temporary works within a challenging tidal environment.

This position is ideally suited to an engineer with a strong background in marine or heavy civil construction, who can effectively coordinate site operations, manage multidisciplinary teams, and drive performance across safety, quality, and programme.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate all site activities associated with the Fish Return Tunnel System, including marine concrete works, shaft interfaces, and installation of fish return structures.

Manage the interface between the marine works, tunnelling operations, and onshore civils, ensuring alignment with programme and design intent.

Plan and oversee site operations to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and environmental controls.

Supervise and support engineers, foremen, and subcontractors, promoting a collaborative and safety-focused culture.

Liaise closely with design, engineering, and client teams to address technical challenges and deliver effective solutions.

Ensure that all works comply with CDM Regulations, method statements, risk assessments, and environmental management plans.

Monitor and report on progress, productivity, and resource utilisation against budget and programme.

Contribute to testing, commissioning, and integration activities associated with the fish return tunnel and marine systems.

Experience & Qualifications

Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

Demonstrable experience in marine, coastal, or offshore civil engineering projects, ideally on major UK infrastructure schemes.

Strong understanding of marine construction techniques, temporary works, and safe working within a tidal or confined environment.

Experience managing or supervising marine structures, cofferdams, or outfall systems highly desirable.

Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to drive safe and efficient delivery.

CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid at Work certifications required.

Experience working within environmentally sensitive marine zones and familiarity with MMO or EA requirements advantageous.

Previous involvement on large infrastructure projects such as HPC, Thames Tideway, or similar would be beneficial
