Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, the Desktop Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support, maintaining desktop infrastructure, and ensuring the smooth operation of end-user computing environments. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, deploying systems, and supporting users both remotely and on-site.
About the Role
* Provide 1st and 2nd line support for desktop, laptop, and mobile devices.
* Work closely with the offshore Service Desk team to ensure smooth escalation from call to closure
* Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Android devices
* Troubleshoot hardware issues and coordinate repairs or replacements.
* Support Microsoft 365 applications, Active Directory, and remote access tools.
* Ensure endpoint security through antivirus, encryption, and patch management.
* Assist with IT asset management and inventory tracking.
* Document support activities, solutions, and procedures.
* Collaborate with other IT teams to support infrastructure and project work.
* Onsite presence in Rowan House to support walk‑ups and VIP support
* Visiting depot locations to complete the modern desktop refresh project

About you
* Holds a UK driving license and happy to travel to depot locations across England
* Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office 365, and Active Directory.
* Familiarity with imaging tools (e.g., Autopilot) and remote support tools
* Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
* Customer‑focused with a proactive and professional attitude
