£26,745 (40hrs pw). Training salary is £23,402 (35hrs pw). Annual Increments:

We operate 24/6, and you’ll be expected to cover various early and late shifts, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Flexibility is key, as the role involves a variety of working arrangements and additional hours. While your finishing time may be unpredictable, our 12-week rota allows you to plan ahead, ensuring you have time for the things you love. About the Role
As a DBO, you’ll be part of a crew providing safe and secure court transportation and custody services for adults, children, and young people. Your responsibilities will include: Arriving at the vehicle depot, attending briefings, and receiving route details and detainee information. Conducting risk assessments and ensuring the vehicle is equipped for transport. Handling both adult and young detainees with appropriate protocols. Engaging with young detainees during transport, providing reassurance and support. Providing court staff with detainee information and supervising young detainees at court. Returning detainees to their establishments and completing necessary paperwork. Managing the emotional demands of supporting vulnerable young people. What You Need to Succeed

You’ll receive comprehensive training during a 5 1/2-week course and ongoing support from experienced colleagues. Here’s what we’re looking for: Current driver's licence (B/B1). Reasonably fit to handle the physical demands of the role. Strong written and verbal communication skills. A genuine interest in working with children and young people. Ability to handle stressful situations with composure. Quick decision-making skills in challenging situations. Collaborative mindset to ensure the safety and well-being of detainees. Meticulous in following protocols and completing paperwork accurately. Skilled in de-escalating conflicts and managing challenging behaviour. High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality. All roles are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and offers of employment are subject to Ministry of Justice Enhanced Level 2 checks with Enhanced DBS (Adult & Child Barring) and satisfactory employment references. This role is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship under current UK Home Office rules.
