Finance Assistant
Full Time (Monday to Friday) in office
Salary £26,000 - £28,000 plus study support
Location Haselmere Surrey
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you are fully accountable for the whole purchase ledger, from purchase orders through to invoices and reconciliation.
Key responsibilities:
1. Matching, checking and coding invoices
2. Making payments via BACS and cheques
3. Processing staff expenses
4. Setting up of new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details
5. Reconciliation of supplier statements
6. Reconciliation of company's bank statements
7. Filing invoices
8. Managing petty cash
9. Data entry
10. Being first point of contact for all relevant enquiries
11. Maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers
12. Reviewing systems and processes and making improvements where necessary
13. Office administration, including answering the phone, taking messages, filing and post.
The Ideal Candidate:
14. AAT Level 3 with three years working experience
15. Excellent communication skills
16. Solid team working skills
17. Self-disciplined and efficient, with a flexible and proactive nature
18. Knowledge of software packages such as SAGE Accounts 50 and BACS
19. Demonstrable experience of bookkeeping
20. Ability to work to deadlines
21. Superb IT skills, including proficiency in data entry, Excel and Microsoft Office
22. Focused and diligent, with excellent attention to detail
23. Demonstrable experience in a similar role
24. Ability to successfully communicate with people across the business
25. Possess first-rate numerical skills
26. Strong bookkeeping skills and previous experience in a similar role
27. Solid organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
