The role

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in West Lancashire to assist with the appointment of a Customer Service Assistant, on a 1.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £13.63 - £17.73 per hour

Summary:

The Customer Service Advisor will provide an efficient, professional, and customer-focused service as the first point of contact for residents, visitors, and service users of the Council. The role involves handling enquiries across multiple channels, including face-to-face, telephone, and electronic communications, ensuring customers receive accurate information and timely resolutions to their queries.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for customer enquiries across a range of Council services.
  • Respond to face-to-face, telephone, email, and other electronically delivered enquiries.
  • Identify customer needs and ensure requests are resolved efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide a welcoming and visible presence within Customer Service Points, acting as a "Greeter" for visitors and customers.
  • Assist customers in accessing Council services and information.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer care and professionalism at all times.

Essentials:

  • Previous experience working in a customer service, contact centre, reception, or public-facing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal confidently with a diverse range of customers.
  • Ability to handle enquiries professionally and resolve issues effectively.
  • Experience using IT systems and customer relationship management systems.

Please note:

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
