Overview
A North-West London-based recycling company seeks to recruit an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead the company’s operations. The Supervisor will oversee a variety of operations, ensuring department targets are met and productivity remains high and efficient. This role includes people management responsibilities such as hiring, training, planning, and assigning daily duties, coordinating and providing practical input for all warehousing and yard operations, including the receipt, storage, and dispatch of products to customers and other businesses within the organisation. The successful candidate will carry out performance reviews where applicable.
Responsibilities
* Oversee day-to-day warehousing operations for a busy recycling business, covering goods in to outbound.
* Recommend measures to improve quality of service and increase efficiency across departments and staff performance.
* Establish and adjust work procedures to meet company demands.
* Provide leadership by setting clear expectations and maintaining high standards of work practices, health and safety.
* Perform administrative duties as required to ensure daily KPI performance.
* Oversee and stay up to date on compliance and H&S regulations.
* Train and monitor staff in standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safe work practices, including new employee inductions.
* Maintain daily communication with Management.
* Plan, coordinate, and monitor the receipt, order assembly, and dispatch of goods.
* Use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently and ensure quality, budgetary targets, and environmental objectives are met.
* Understand and support the company’s policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to them.
* Coordinate the use of automated and computerised systems where necessary.
* Organise recruitment and training of staff, monitor staff performance and progress.
* Motivate, organise, and encourage teamwork to meet or exceed productivity targets.
* Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security in the work environment.
Experience / Skills
* Minimum experience: 3 years
* Well organised and flexible with time to meet reasonable business demands
* Strong team player, confident and motivated
* Excellent people management skills with a track record of coaching and developing a team
* Fair knowledge of Excel and Microsoft
* Good leadership and administrative skills
* Knowledge of HR and disciplinary procedures
* Confident and decisive in difficult situations
Remuneration: £28K - £30K p.a.
