Job Description:
Hays are currently working with a SEN Secondary School near Market Harborough to find a SEN Teaching Assistant to support its students in preparing for adulthood. The ideal candidate has experience supporting young people with PMLD and/or SLD in an educational setting. Your new school
This school believes in supporting its students in preparing for adulthood and focuses on key areas including communication, independent living, and future destinations. The school supports children with cognition and learning needs, and all children have an EHCP, with main needs being PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities) and SLD (Severe Learning Disabilities). The school has developed its own curriculum and offers excellent facilities, including sensory resources to encourage student engagement.
Your new role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work with a team to support pupils with PMLD and SLD to thrive in a nurturing environment. Hays Teaching Assistants make a positive impact on children and young people's lives, supporting diverse care needs and personalities. You will receive ongoing support from your Hays consultant, Hollie, throughout your placement and beyond.
What you need to succeed
You should have at least 1 year’s experience working with pupils with PMLD or SLD, preferably in an educational setting. Ability to adapt to students' needs across Key Stages, supporting communication and sensory needs, is essential. Confidence in integrating into a new school and building relationships with colleagues, pupils, and parents is also important.
What you'll get in return
* Flexible Opportunities: Work around your schedule for a better work/life balance without compromising commitments.
* Professional Development: Access resources to support your career growth, including a dedicated consultant.
* Exclusive Job Opportunities: First access to live opportunities in Leicestershire.
* Referral Scheme: Hays offers a £250 high street voucher for referring a friend.
