You’ll use your skills in storytelling to engage our customers in the diverse stories of Belton and the National Trust as a whole, bringing to life how our ranges reflect these stories.Salary: £12.25 per hourContract/duration: Fixed term contract until 31-Jan-2026Hours/working pattern: This is a zero-hour contract, meaning we can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week. While we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, flexibility is needed as schedules may change based on business needs. We’ll try to give as much notice as possible. The role includes weekends and Bank Holidays but does not require split shifts. This role is a peak time role and predominantly involves working regular evenings as well as weekends at our magical Christmas at Belton lights trail event which runs from 21st November to 31st December (the property is closed on Christmas Day).For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.
What it's like to work here
Reporting to the Retail Manager, you'll join a team made up of two staff, the Retail Manager, two Retail Team Leaders and 20 volunteers. You'll engage our customers with the diverse stories of Belton and the National Trust as a whole, bringing to life how our ranges reflect these stories.

What you'll be doing
As a member of the retail team, you’ll be offering visitors help and advice with their shopping. You’ll have high standards of presentation in the shop while providing excellent service to all customers.
You’ll also be able to talk to them about how everything they buy helps to fund the work of the National Trust. Other duties may include arranging, receiving and unpacking deliveries, creating shop displays and working with others in the team to keep the shop floor clean and organised.
