Cloud / DevOps Engineer (AWS) – Contract

Overview
We are looking for an experienced Cloud / DevOps Engineer to join a high-performing technology function supporting multiple Agile teams delivering API-driven platforms.
This is a hands-on role focused on production support, platform reliability, and operational excellence, with additional responsibility for driving automation and improving CI/CD practices across AWS environments.
The position offers a varied workload combining BAU support, infrastructure management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide DevOps support to multiple Agile teams working on API-based services
2. Ensure platform stability, performance, and reliability across environments
3. Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
4. Deliver BAU operational support, including:Incident investigation and troubleshootingInfrastructure support and maintenanceProduction issue resolution
5. Manage and support containerised workloads (EKS / ECS)
6. Improve automation across build, release, and deployment processes
7. Contribute to infrastructure-as-code implementations
8. Collaborate closely with development teams to improve engineering efficiency
9. Take ownership of operational responsibilities across shared platforms
Core Technical Skills
10. Strong hands-on experience with AWS (essential)
11. Containerisation:Kubernetes (EKS)Docker
12. CI/CD tooling ( Bamboo, Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitLab CI or similar)
13. Infrastructure as Code: CloudFormation and/or AWS CDK
14. Databases: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB
15. Scripting: Bash, PowerShell, or similar
16. Proven experience supporting production environments
Nice to Have
17. AWS security best practices
18. Observability/monitoring tools ( CloudWatch, Splunk, New Relic)
19. Exposure to SRE or platform engineering practices
20. experience working in multi-team Agile environments

21. ~5+ years in DevOps / Cloud Engineering roles
22. Strong experience working with AWS in production environments
23. experience supporting Kubernetes-based platforms
24. Background in modern cloud or API-driven architectures
